Cumulative level test: Cases in real sentences, verb aspect, and narrating time

Check understanding, separately from reading

12 questions · 80% to pass · no timer. This longer test revisits both units in the level. These authored questions assess recognition and application of the taught distinctions, not professional qualification. You may review the lessons and retry. Repeat attempts reuse the question bank; a remembered answer is not proof of transfer to a new situation.

Saving a lesson records reading only. Previous lesson completions have not been converted into passing scores. You can continue reading without a pass; the assessment remains unpassed.

Question 1

A feminine speaker reports that yesterday she saw Anna and read the book. Three endings must be chosen independently: the object Анна, the object книга, and the past verb. Analyse which word controls each ending, and explain why superficially similar endings do not share a single rule.

Question 2

One message says you are at the university and the next says you are walking to the university. The same preposition в appears in both. State the case each phrase requires and explain what carries the difference for your reader.

Question 3

You report that a letter arrived from Moscow and that a parcel is intended for Anna. Choose the two prepositions and the case each requires, then explain the reasoning that keeps them from being confused with their near neighbours от and the dative.

Question 4

Your supply list must deny one notebook, deny several notebooks, and deny available time. Give the three phrases and explain what changes across them, using the noun's class and the kind of thing being denied.

Question 5

Analyse Вчера я купила книгу для Анны в магазине около дома. Name the case of each noun phrase and identify the word that selected it, then state which parts are agreement rather than case.

Question 6

A learner claims that any perfective partner can be produced by prefixing the imperfective verb. Give a counterexample from this level and explain the two distinct reasons the claim fails.

Question 7

Why can Я сделаю это сейчас not describe an action in progress, and what would you say instead? Explain the general principle that settles the choice without reference to this particular verb.

Question 8

You report both that you were reading for two hours and that you read the article in two hours. Beyond the verb form, what changes, and how would you explain the difference to someone who thinks the two time phrases measure the same interval?

Question 9

In Когда я вошёл, все читали, identify the event and the background, then explain what a reader would understand differently if both verbs were perfective.

Question 10

Your plan states three things: you read all day yesterday, you will be reading in an hour, and you will finish the report tomorrow. Name the three constructions and justify each choice.

Question 11

A future commitment loses its endpoint, so tomorrow becomes reading time rather than a finished report. State exactly what must change in the account and what must stay as it is, with reasons.

Question 12

A learner has read this level and recognises every model but cannot produce an unaided account. What should the feedback distinguish, and what single next action should it prescribe?
